Dammar (White) Vateriaindica

Dammar is a white resin that comes from a tree that is a native of South and East Asia. It also goes by the name Vateria indica, copal and so forth. The resin is light to transparent and dusty white in colour. The Resin by its appearance and when diffused on coal has refractive properties. It cleanses and connects us with transcendental realms and brings inspiration. In times of depression burning this resin as incense can affect a shift and help channelizing energies positively and productively. It is also quite suitable for occasions in which spiritual work is to be done. The bright fresh citrus fragrance works like a ray of light and clarifies diffuse mental states and is also said to bear the gift of clairvoyance. In Ayurveda, Dammar is used to treat depression, melancholy, dysentery, skin and ear infections.
