Royla, also known as the Jurineamacrocephala is a medicinally important plant of alpine region. Its tuberous roots have been used in treatment of various ailments in folk medicine and in religious rituals for centuries. Royla is globally distributed in the Himalayan region across Pakistan, India and Nepal between an altitude range of 3000-4300m. It is also referred to as Guggaldhoop by the locals and is revered of its high importance in Goddess worship indicating its importance in the manifestation aspect of the existence.
