It has a warm, woody-sweet, balsamic, pine-needle like notes and has antiseptic and diuretic properties. It improves digestion, treats gas and colic as well as gastrointestinal (GI) infections and intestinal worms. It is known to stimulate the uterus hence is recommended to be avoided during pregnancy. Juniper is also used to treat rheumatism, arthritis, neuralgia and eases inflammatory conditions.
